Peloton Pivot is a conceptual massage gun that rethinks how athletes access hard-to-reach muscle groups
Problem
Traditional massage guns can be difficult to use on hard-to-reach areas, often requiring uncomfortable bending and twisting. Pivot explores a more adaptable approach to recovery, making self-treatment easier and more accessible.
Interviews
Mark, 59
“I can usually tell exactly where I’m sore, but sometimes reaching that area is harder than actually treating it.”
Quinn, 16
“Getting to my calves and hamstrings after an all body workout can be very difficult to comfortably reach.”
Liz, 53
“My lower back and legs are usually where I feel it most, but those are also the areas that are the most awkward to reach on my own.”
Design Goals
Peloton Design language
Purposeful Structure
Peloton expresses performance through bold, engineered geometry and visible mechanical structure. Functional components are treated as part of the product’s visual identity rather than something that needs to be hidden.
Soft, Recognizable Forms
Peloton balances its technical aesthetic with soft radii, continuous surfaces, and approachable forms. Strategic use of the signature red creates recognizable focal points while separating key touchpoints from the surrounding hardware.
Integrated Function
Controls, adjustment points, and mechanical features are integrated directly into the product architecture. A restrained black palette and minimal graphics keep complex functionality visually organized and intuitive.

Models
My final direction developed into a pivoting massage gun concept, allowing the handle to rotate around the central body. This adjustable architecture gives the user multiple grip positions, making it easier to reach different areas of the body while keeping the form compact and controlled.

Brand-Inspired Form
The final profile takes inspiration from the Peloton “P” mark, using its circular head and sweeping vertical proportion as a foundation for the form. This helped the product feel visually connected to Peloton’s brand language while still allowing the pivoting handle to become the defining functional feature of the design.
